City Corridor Greening

City Corridor Greening

Frequent, severe flooding in recent years has forced the City to re-evaluate its stormwater management approach and it turned to us. EOR screened the entire one mile reconstruction corridor to determine optimal sites and developed a suite of green infrastructure practices used on those site. EOR also evaluated the soils to locate suitable infiltration areas, and constructed a hydrologic model to determine the potential flood reduction and infrastructure downsizing benefits of each practice proposed. This information was then used to develop a cost benefit analysis for the green infrastructure approach. This first -of-its-kind project will form the foundation of future greening efforts in the City.

Client Benefits

  • Reduce downstream flooding issues.
  • Beautify project corridor.
  • Decreased cost & size of infrastructure replacement.
  • Improved runoff water quality.
